Tutors
Introduction
Tutors are an absolutely crucial element in the future of Gaelic language acquisition. The calibre of their Gaelic fluency will affect how well or badly those who are taught by them will speak Gaelic. It is not then difficult to see in the long run, just how important it is for all potential tutors to be offered the very best training, equipment, resources, materials etc. during their own personal training.
Furthermore, the Total Immersion Plus (TIP) tutor training courses that the potential tutors undertake for their own advancement are unique, innovative and deliver language acquisition methodologies speedily, painlessly and as stress free as possible in a ten day module, plus two days top up every year.
It is also worth noting that tutors can be any age 18-99 years, provided they have a Gaelic fluency and the wherewithal to take on this most rewarding, though not easy work.
Tutor training courses are ongoing throughout the year and held at
a variety of locations around Scotland and in Nova Scotia.
Contact us either by telephone or email finlay@ti-plus.co.uk for information apropos courses when and where.

Gaelic In The Home Courses
The information given here is drawn from the parents section and in due course one will see why.
Gaelic In The Home Courses provide tutors with a range of innovative methodologies, whereby they can deliver conversational Gaelic to students, within 200 hours, given a realistic commitment and set within a pro-active learning environment.
One unique feature of this new learning, is that the home is not just the backdrop for learning Gaelic; in actual fact it is a central part of the whole language acquisition process. For it provides themes apropos the kitchen with all its utensils, cooking, recipe books, washing, appliances etc., the bedroom, sitting room, garden etc. Indeed, every room provides its own particular theme and vocabulary and therefore, an endless supply of topics in which a student can acquire a comprehensive range of Gaelic conversational words, phrases and sentences.
The second important feature of the course is the wider community aspect, whereby themes such as shopping, visiting, outings, attending
pre-school facilities, sport and leisure activities etc are also embarked on.
A final incentive-providing feature found in this exciting new language learning method, is that there is no reading, writing, grammar or translation until a competent level of conversational Gaelic has been achieved by a student. Thus virtually, the whole learning process is both painless and enjoyable. An uncommon occurrence found in traditional and many current language learning courses.
To accompany this work, tutors would do well to acquire the

All these manuals offer invaluable help, instruction and guidance in reaching the Gaelic conversational objective in the shortest and most successful way possible.
Altrum/Bumps & Babies Courses
Altrum/Bumps & Babies Courses provide tutors with the wherewithal for tutoring, those considering parenthood, expectant and parents of a 0 to 3 year child with a unique Gaelic vocabulary centred around life with a new or awaited child.
For example, themes such as nappy changing, feeding, dressing, language of affection, talking to the child etc. all have specific language to be learnt and used by the whole family.
Eventually there will be separate courses covering four age groups of
pre-birth-9 months, 9-18 months, 18 months to 3 years and 3 to 5 years.
The great thing about Altrum/Bumps & Babies Courses is that parents learn child centred Gaelic Motherese, in a most natural and stress-free way. They in turn, can then pass it onto their child, which,
as was stated earlier, is the ideal way for a child to learn Gaelic.
Tutors will very soon come to realise that parents will find added assurance in Altrum/Bumps & Babies Courses knowing that at their heart, they have the highly effective Total Immersion Plus (TIP) methodologies.

The Pre-School Staff Gaelic Course is for the advancement of
pre-school staff and those considering working in the Gaelic medium
pre-school education sector. The overall objective here is for a tutor to help bring pre-school group staff to a conversational Gaelic fluency in 200 hours or less. And as one might expect this course also embraces Total Immersion Plus (TIP) methods.
Once again the philosophy is to make the learning process stimulating, pain free, encouraging and as user-friendly as possible.
One particular useful aspect of these courses is that they can easily be held at the pre-school group premises, in a school or even at a community hall; as long, as they have all the necessary facilities.
